<image:title>Author Visits - Classroom Q&A</image:title>
<image:caption>Audience Size: Up to 45 students per session 20-30 minutes Because large assemblies have their limitations, interacting with students in the comfort of their own classroom environment and in a space where every student has a chance to ask questions is priceless. These highly personal visits can look like popping into individual classrooms after one large assembly or convening several classes for a grade-level discussion. Q&A’s last 20-30 minutes depending on the number of students, can be scheduled with 10-minute breaks between, and work best when classes have already participated in a presentation or workshop earlier in the day or are currently reading one of Cory’s books. Each class will be given a “Monster List of Questions” prior, to ensure an engaging and informative time. (Large schools looking to squeeze in as many of these visits as possible should feel free to contact Cory about scheduling. Special two-day rates will be given when possible.)</image:caption>

Using examples from Cory’s path from Pre-K to publication, we’ll explore things like: where ideas come from, where to find inspiration when stuck, and how we’re all storytellers . . . we just might not know it yet. Eat That Book The perfect addition to your Read Across America or National Poetry Month celebrations. This presentation explores the different kinds of books we read, encourages students to “taste” (like Alastair from The Simple Art of Flying) a wide selection. (Educators might find that adding a classroom “Book Tasting” to the day’s events to be a helpful and fun way to apply this message. Includes a downloadable “Book Tasting” guide and worksheet.) *Presentations can be customized to highlight your school’s yearly theme, Positivity Project character traits, PARP focus, and more!</image:caption>

<image:caption>The Week Junior reports news directly to kids ages 8-14—providing the facts behind what’s happening in the world and empowering Gen Alpha to develop and voice their own point of view. Our weekly subscription magazine, launched in March 2020 and now reaching over 100K households, is packed with news, science, animals, nature, sports, entertainment, and puzzles alongside reader-submitted stories and causes kids care about. Interactive franchises, like The Big Debate (inviting readers to weigh in on the news of the week) and Junior Council (kid reporters in training) provide a platform for kids to be heard. In addition to content that encourages children to arrive at a real understanding of the world, The Week Junior’s experienced team of literacy-minded editors also provides parent-oriented communication around timely topics and resources for educators.</image:caption>
